How To Convert Adobe Indesign Files (.Indd) To Corel Files

Sometime while working on Adobe InDesign we struck in a situation where we needto Convert Our InDesign Document into Corel Draw Document. I face a Similar Situation when I Design Annual Cultural Magazine “Pratibimb11“http://www.filesonic.com/file/2228888254/pRaTiBiMb_Magazine.pdf of my College “Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University”.

I Design my magazine in Adobe InDesignbut Due to unavailability of InDesign Software at Publisher Place it become a Bottleneck for me. So to overcome the problem I Simply Convert my InDesign file to EPS file which is compatible with Corel Draw and Get my Work Done. So if you encounter a same situation then don’t just get panic Follow these Instruction to convert InDesign File to EPS File:-

Step 1

For Converting the Files we need to Convert Text and Image Layer Separately to EPS File Format So for this Open your InDesign document which you want to convert into Corel Draw.

Step 2

Create two Different Layer i.e. Layer 1 and Layer 2. Rename Layer 1 to Text Layer and Layer 2 to Image Layer. Move all your text Content to Layer 1 and all your Images to Layer 2.

Step 3

Make Layer 1 ( Text Layer ) Visible and Layer 2 ( Image Layer ) Invisible by clicking on eye Box of the Layer Dialog Box.

Step 4

Click the “File” pulldown menu and select “Export.”. Create a Folder name “Text EPS “and specifyit as your output folder.  Write a filename, and click the “Save as” option. Choose the EPS file format option. The export EPS dialog box will appear.

Step 5

Go to the “Pages” tab.  Select the pages you want to export.

Step 6

Go to the “Additional Options” tab. Click on the “Embed Fonts” option. Select the “Complete” method. The complete method downloads all the characters and fonts required for the document to be printed.

Step 7

After Finalizing all the setting’s Click on the Export button. All your InDesign File Pages are saved into your Chosen“Text EPS” Destination Folder.

Step 8

Now Make Layer 2 ( Image Layer ) Visible and Layer 1 ( Text Layer ) Invisible as we done above.

Step 9

Click the “File” pulldown menu and select “Export”. Now Create a Folder name “Image EPS” and specify it as your output Folder. Repeat the above process.

After conversion open the both Image and Text EPS files in Corel Draw. Combine both the Image and Text EPS into a Single Corel Draw file and you will get InDesign File converted into a Corel Draw File.
