Indonesia Quake Set Off Panic, Indian Ocean tsunami alert lifted
Indonesia Quake: There are two very powerful earthquakes in Indonesia within 2 hours in Sumatra on 11th April afternoon. This Earthquake spreading panic among all the people from Indonesia and them remembered Tsunami and Earthquake came in year 2004. That earthquake (Indonesia Quake) was also in the same area.
There were no any reports about damages or causalities in Indonesia due to Earthquake. This time TV and Online social networking media was the main source to broadcast Tsunami warning due to Indonesia Earthquake.
The first earthquake in Indonesia was measured at 8.6 magnitudes off Sumatra coast by the US geological Survey and second Earthquake was measured at 8.2 magnitudes.
Tsunami warnings in India relaxed after Indonesia quakes.
Few Strong tremors were also felt in different cities of India on afternoon. People in multi-storeyed apartments and employee working in the high rise buildings rushed out in panic after they felt the tremors.
Tremors were felt in Bangalore, Patna, Kochi, Kolkata, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, Cuttack, Bhubaneshwar and several other cities on the eastern coast of India.
Tsunami Warning In India:Earlier, India also issued warning of tsunami due to earthquake in Indonesia for coastal regions of TamilNadu , Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Andhra Pradesh following a massive magnitude earthquake off Sumatra coast. The Chennai port has been shut down due to this tsunami alert. Government has evacuated some people from South Andaman as a precautionary measure.
National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams have already been rushed to Andaman and Nicobar Islands, coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
