A latest tablet, named as Toshiba Excite X10 has been announced by Toshiba in CES 2012. According to the company, the tablet will be launched sometime in the middle of the first quarter of this year. This particular device is a 10-inch tablet and is the world’s thinnest which is even thinner than the iPad. The tablet has an amazing and stunning look with an extra-slim and edge design weighing only 1.2-pound which consists of two thin wafers. The device is 0.3 inch thin and comes with an aluminum backing.
This Toshiba tablet is built with a 10.1-inch (~149 ppi pixel density) LED-backlit LCD capacitive touchscreen AutoBrite display which resembles a display resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. This display features 16 million colors, multitouch and an aspect ratio of 16:10. For the time being, the device will run on an Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system which will be updated to Android 4.0 Ice cream Sandwich in the near future. The device is powered by a processor which works with a speed of 1.2GHz along with a TI OMAP 4430 chipset and a ULP GeForce Graphics processor which qualifies the quality and clarity of the images and videos on the display. It is provided with Accelerometer, gyro and compass as sensors.
It is embedded with an rear-facing 5MP camera and a 2 megapixel front camera which enables video calling and video chatting. It is supported by a microSD card slot which is expandable up to 32GB and is provided with DNLA compatibility and an USB for data transfer. It is enabled with HDMI which enables one to connect to a TV and watch videos and play games in a big and wide screen. Still then, it needs adapters and is a step back from the original Thrive.
The Exite X10 tablet facilitates messaging via Email, Push Mail, IM and RSS and supports browsing through HTML and Adobe Flash. It device is enabled with a GPS support and Java MIDP emulator support. It supports music play and other entertaining features in MP3/WAV/WMA/eAAC+ player audio formats and MP4/H.264/H.263/WMV player video formats. It is enhanced with various other miscellaneous features such as Organizer, Document viewer, Photo editor, Voice memo and Predictive text input.
The Toshiba Exite10 tablet is powered by a standard battery which ensures a battery life up to long hours. This device Android 3.2 tablet which comes in 16GB and 32GB versions and is going to turn up before the end of this month. The device is expected to arrive at a price tag of $530 for a 16GB version and $600 for the 32GB because Toshiba hopes for a premium above the Ipad for the 16 GB version and equalizing Apple for the 32 GB version.
